It’s easy to become a Rising Stars tutor!
1. Complete and submit the online application. PLEASE NOTE: We are not accepting online applications at this time. To apply, please contact Laura Harvancik at director@risingstarsmilwaukee.org.
2. Complete and email the media consent form to director@risingstarsmilwaukee.org.
3. Schedule and attend an interview and orientation session with the Rising Stars director. These meetings are conducted throughout the year. Tutors learn about the history, mission and ministry of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND). They experience how we can advance the charism of the SSND by ministering to children who are struggling academically. Our tutoring program includes keys, coaching, strategies, methods and tips, all designed to help you succeed with your students. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions during the session.
4. Complete the Safeguarding All God’s Family class through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. All volunteers working with minors in the archdiocese are required to go through this training.
5. Pass a background check. All volunteers are required to go through a background check to ensure our students will be in a safe environment.
